For some time now I have been concerned, as many others, about what I am putting into my body by way of mouth. Food allergies are now quite common - even the norm - in middle age and people are buying much more wisely. It has taken a long time but now people are becoming aware. The supermarkets have also noticed the trend and are catering for that by clearly marking shelves and areas in their stores with names like "free From". My wife cannot eat products with lactose and wheat/gluten but far from being restricted, we find many recipes - especially in old cook books - which offer interesting menus without the need to risk taking ingredients that cause an adverse reaction.

Until recently, however, it never occurred to me that what we are allowing to touch our skin actually gets inside. Not only this but when you consider that manufacturers are actually putting in chemicals to make our bodies absorb even more of their chemicals!!
The solution lies in education. Once you are aware of the dangers and what to look for and also which products can help, it is not so difficult to get started and expand your use of the right products.
I think Keys is making a great product and at the right time to help lead us all in the right direction. It is now up to each of us to spread the word.

Hi Brian, I have always found it interesting that when we handle poisons, strong chemicals and even detergents that the labels tell us to use rubber cloves, protect our eyes and don't inhale. Smiler

It is so obvious that these things will hurt us if they come in contact with our skin. But where is the cross-over. At what point do these less harmful chemicals build up and become harmful? What about chemicals interacting to create something harmful?

I wonder sometimes if chemicals in our food cause the disorders that your wife has. I think you are right that much is being absorbed by the skin.

While everybody now seems to be focused on organics, it is probably time we raised up a little noise.

I love this site because I have learned so much. I look forward to this becoming a place that speaks out to the powers that be.

Best Jackie
