There seems to be a lot of interest out there to find out how products are ranked from a clean and green perspective. The Environmental Working group Skin Deep report is a great place to find out how your personal care products rank against the others. You can check it out at http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep2/
What I am interested in knowing is that are there others checking on household cleaning products, pet care etc. I am also very interested to see if there is a similar group to the EWG, but working on the Green side. At Keys, our bottles are made from corn, labels are recycled materials and our enclosure are also green. We try to avoid too much packaging materials and use recycled paper for our literature. It would be nice to know if there was someone watching on the Green side Let's try to start a list here that can become a resource for all of us. If we can compile a list of resources, I will see if we can create a place on the forum to display them as a resource. Regards, bob |

Good Idea!
Here is a start. The National Institutes of Health have a rating systems of sorts for household products. Here is the link. http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/ You can type in chemicals and they will tell you what products contain them. This is a cool but scary site. The National Medical Library also has a site called Toxnet. It can be viewed at http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/ I will keep looking! |
