When combined with a 30+ spf sunblock, a 4-5 inch wide-brimmed hat with a chin strap is my first line of defense against aging! It's pretty simple...when you shade your face-everyday you are actually avoiding alot of direct uv rays. Don't forget the sunglasses. Oakley and others make wrap around glasses that filter out UV. I believe that your youth is in your eyes. That tissue around the eyes is soft and very fragile. UV is one of your eye tissues worst enemies

Sunglasses are important at every age as solar uv rays are cumulative--get the young kids interested in wearing them early in life, and it will come as second-nature. In Australia, kids are required to come to school with a hat, sunglasses, sunblock or protective clothing.
I like Oakley's wrap arounds because they are so light on the bride of the nose and they provide the wrap around coverage--and look cool
I know we say this elsewhere in the forum, but 90% of all visible skin aging is caused by UVA radiation. UVA has also been linked to elevated skin cancer rates. Please keep in mind that all SPF rating only are focused on UVB. The EU Star rating is the only rating for UVA. So make sure that your clothing, hats, glasses and sunblock have a UVA rating as well.
