Over the past year I have used less and less products on my face--with terrific results. A year ago I stopped using toners, hydroxy acids, vitamin c serums, you name it--and the redness in my face has gone away! It begs the question-how much are we irritating sensitive skin with this myriad of products with a laundry list of ingredients--and how many people think they have rosacea, when what they have is chronically irritated skin?

Wendy,
You are completely right! Most people (women especially) think that they are improving their skin by putting more STUFF on it. I think it is the opposite. All your skin needs to be healthy is a good diet, proper (GENTLE) cleansing, and a good moisturizer. The more you pile on the products (laden with chemicals, preservative, fragrances, etc.), the more you are adding to a problem you are trying to fix! The skin is not designed to accept being bombarded with chemicals. One of the most important jobs of your skin is to keep bad things OUT. Also, a unhealthy irritated skin does not block bacteria and infections as easily, leading to a lower immune system. And we think we are helping our skin with our bathroom full of miracle products!
